People are getting used to home assistants sounding good, they already have high expectations. But when you hear a robot that you ASSUME is dumb respond in an intelligent way, it feels very strange.

I've been building a bunch of different demos lately to showcase different facets of Realtime & LLM capabilities —— and even though Telephony + Voice seems like a somewhat boring combination —— it was one of my favourites to demo & use.

I don't really know why, but it's extremely jarring to hear a DTMF robot respond intelligently if you say something unexpected.

I'd love to hear any other ideas of a "dumb" robot that I can try to add realtime AI to —— it really rekindles the feeling of magic that I had ~2 years ago with the launch of ChatGPT.
